ISO 9001 Standard
The ISO 9001 standard offers a quality management system (QMS) model for achieving and meeting customer requirements while enhancing satisfaction. It is generic and suitable for all types of organizations. Therefore, businesses from both the public and private sectors, including non‑governmental organizations, can benefit from the ISO 9001 QMS model — regardless of whether they are small, medium, or large enterprises. An immediate benefit realized from implementing ISO 9001 is the coordinated alignment of internal process activities focused on improving customer satisfaction, which in turn leads to many other internal and external rewards. The magnitude of these benefits depends on how effectively the processes achieve their targets.
ISO 9001 is applicable to any organization, irrespective of size, type, or industry, and is the most widely used quality management standard globally.
